Egypt is set to participate in the Asian Women’s Forum, an international platform focused on advancing women’s empowerment and addressing key challenges affecting women across the region.
The forum is scheduled to take place in Bukhara, Uzbekistan, from May 13 to 15. Counselor Amal Ammar, Chairperson of Egypt’s National Council for Women, has been invited to represent Egypt at the forum.
Advancing Women’s Empowerment Across the Region
The forum will address a broad range of issues affecting women, including political participation, economic empowerment, healthcare, education, social protection, climate action, environmental sustainability and governance.
Discussions will also focus on challenges facing women and ways to strengthen their participation across different areas of society, while advancing efforts to eliminate all forms of discrimination against women and expand access to equal opportunities.
Strengthening Regional Cooperation on Women’s Rights
The forum is expected to provide an opportunity for participating countries to exchange expertise, experiences and successful practices related to women’s empowerment and development.
Kilichev expressed optimism that the gathering would contribute to strengthening regional and international cooperation and encourage greater coordination on issues related to women’s rights and empowerment.
The forum is also expected to support sustained dialogue among participating countries and create opportunities for stronger partnerships and future initiatives aimed at expanding women’s roles and opportunities across the region.
Egypt’s Role in Advancing Women’s Empowerment
Egypt’s participation places the country within a broader regional dialogue on women’s rights, leadership and economic and social participation.
Through platforms such as the Asian Women’s Forum, participating countries can share experiences and explore practical approaches to expanding opportunities for women while addressing barriers that continue to affect their participation in public, economic and social life.
