Doha’s 22nd WTA 1000 Tennis Tournament Kicks Off

The 22nd edition of the Qatar tennis tournament began on February 10. Iga Swiatek, the two-time defending champion, is expected to compete and defend her title for the third time.

This tournament is the first of the year 2024 and will be held at the Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex in Doha, Qatar.

The event includes a 56-player singles draw and a 28-team doubles draw. The singles and doubles finals will take place on February 17.

The tournament features eighteen of the top twenty players in the world, including Swiatek, who is the number one seed. Other notable players include 2023 US Open Champion Coco Gauff, 2023 Wimbledon runner-up Ons Jabeur, Elena Rybakina, 2023 Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova, and Maria Sakkari.
