Aswan International Women’s Film Festival revealed its winners: Egypt prevailed

The winners of the awards for the 8th Aswan International Women Film Festival were revealed on Thursday, as the festival came to an end. Egyptian works received multiple honors in various divisions of the festival, according to Ahram Online

The festival took place from April 20th to April 25th and featured 76 films from over 36 countries, which were screened across various competitive segments and out-of-competition screenings.

Egypt received several awards in international competitions, including the Special Jury Award in the Feature Films Competition for the Egyptian film Memoirs of M.A. Draz, directed by Maggie Morgan. The same film also won the European Union Award for the best Euro-Mediterranean film, sharing the award with Four Daughters by Kaouther Ben Hania. Additionally, the Best Director award in the Short Film Competition went to Somewhere in Between, directed by Dahlia Nemlich, which was a co-production between Egypt, France, and Lebanon. Chez Gai by Islam Kamal also received a Special Mention in the same segment.
