by Aya Salah Ed-din

Maya Morsi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council of the Arab Women’s Organization and President of the National Council of Women, stated that political resolve would always be the “password” for elevating women’s standing and making them a clear national political priority.

Morsi made the statements while attending the AWO Executive Council’s 21st regular meeting on Monday.

Morsi commended President Abdel Fattah El Sisi for supporting and protecting Egyptian women’s rights, citing his opinion that women’s empowerment is a national obligation.

Egyptian women are currently experiencing an unprecedented golden period owing to the widespread support they get under President Sisi’s leadership, she added.

Several achievements were made over the past years, Morsi said, adding Egypt attained a tangible progress in many indexes of the 2030 National Strategy for Egyptian Women Empowerment.
