Palestine’s Women’s Affairs Minister Meets Noor Shams Women’s Association to Strengthen Women’s Empowerment
Palestine’s Minister of Women’s Affairs, Mona Al-Khalili, met with Iman Hammad, President of the Noor Shams Women’s Association in Tulkarm, along with several members of the association’s administrative board, to discuss avenues for cooperation and strengthen joint efforts to support and empower women.
During the meeting, Minister Al-Khalili presented the Ministry of Women’s Affairs’ work strategy, highlighting its key objectives and priorities. She stressed the importance of partnerships with women’s institutions, associations, and local communities in implementing programs and interventions that respond to women’s needs while strengthening their protection and empowerment across various fields.
Hammad and members of the association’s administrative board outlined the organization’s key projects and programs, as well as its efforts to support and empower women. They also reviewed the forms of support received by the association to implement projects and initiatives designed to address women’s needs.
The meeting also aimed to continue cooperation between the Noor Shams Women’s Association and the Ministry of Women’s Affairs as part of an economic empowerment initiative provided to the association by the ministry. The initiative is among several programs benefiting women’s associations across Palestine, with the goal of supporting and empowering women and strengthening their role in society.
Hammad and the accompanying delegation thanked Minister Al-Khalili for her continued support and advocacy for women in Noor Shams Camp, particularly amid the difficult circumstances they face following the displacement experienced by the camp due to the Israeli occupation.
The Noor Shams Women’s Association in Tulkarm is a Palestinian women’s organization dedicated to women’s issues and committed to advancing women’s rights and empowering them economically, socially, and intellectually. The association implements a range of projects, programs, and initiatives, including economic empowerment programs that support women in finding sources of income and establishing small businesses, particularly amid challenging economic and social conditions.
