Nour El Tayeb Successfully Makes It to the Final Match of Cleveland Squash Championship

Egyptian squash champion, Nour El Tayeb from Wadi Degla Club, has reached the final round of the Cleveland Squash Championship in the US, with prize money of up to $75K for women and $51K for men.

In March, the PSA Professional Players Association announced the latest ranking for women’s squash players. Nour El Sherbini of Sporting has retained her top position for the 27th consecutive week, marking her 237th week as the top-ranked player in the history of women’s squash rankings.

Hania Al Hammamy has secured the second position, with Noran Jawhar closely following in the third position. However, Nour El Tayeb has slipped down the rankings and is now placed eighth.

For men, Ibrahim qualified for the semi-finals after defeating Mohamed Assem Khan 3-0. A few days ago, PSA announced the international ranking for the final week of February 2024. For men, the ranking included five Egyptian players.

Ali Farag headed the ranking for the 40th successive week, and the 196th in his history. Mostafa Asal came fourth, and Karim Abdel Gawad jumped to the No.5 seed. Mazen Hesham came seventh, and Tarek Mo’men came eighth.

For women, five Egyptian Squash stars are included in the list. Nour El Sherbini headed the international ranking of the final week in February 2024 and for 27 successive weeks, and 237 weeks in her history. Hania El Hammamy came second, and Nouran Gohar came second.
