Head of the General Authority for Healthcare (GAH) Ahmed el Sobky said coming action plans call for promoting the file of medical tourism in order to attain development.
Efforts are focused on making the authority a tool for the state to increase its resources of foreign currency, added Sobky, who is also an Aide to the Health and Population Minister and the General Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance Project.
He said the authority seeks to achieve the state’s vision on expanding the full health insurance system application to cover all parts of the country and adopting the value-based healthcare concept which see to it that healthcare providers (including hospitals and physicians) are compensated based upon patient health outcomes.
GAH also acts to increase numbers of employees serving at its health facilities, he said, adding that it has an investment tool to work domestically and abroad.
