Spokesman for the Health and Population Ministry, Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, stated that Premarital tests for any soon-to-be-married couples cost the Egyptian state EGP 320.
Abdel Ghaffar explained in a phone call with the DMC satellite channel on Monday, February 27, that the total cost of the tests for any would-be couples is EGP 500, of which they pay EGP 180, and the state should cover the remaining EGP 320.
This initiative aims to test them for genetic, infectious, and transmissible diseases, to eliminate all risks of transmitting any disease to each other and their offspring.
The spokesman noted that the new initiative to scan those planning to get married comes under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
