In her new series “Under Guardianship”, scheduled to air in Ramadan 2023, Egyptian megastar star Mona Zaki sheds light on various women’s issues, in addition to underlining the urgency to empower them in society and support their fight against the many difficulties they face during their journey of life.
The celebrated actress portrays the character of “Hanan”, a housewife and mother of a baby girl and another 9-year-old child. After the death of her husband, she faces numerous problems. She is then forced to give up her femininity and work as a fisherman.
Throughout the series, the character struggles to overcome the challenges she faces as a woman in her place of work. The Ramadan series also discusses the guardianship law, as the widow confronts her late husband’s family to preserve the financial rights of her two minor children.
The series “Under Guardianship” was written by Khaled and Sherine Diab, directed by Muhammad Shaker Khudair, and produced by Media Hub Saadi – Jawhar, starring Mona Zaki, Diab, Noha Abdeen, Ahmed Khaled Saleh, Rushdi Al-Shamy, Ali Al-Tayeb, Maha Nassar, Khaled Kamal, Tharaa Jbeil, Muhammad Abdel Azim, and Ahmed Abdel Hamid, among a talented team of cast and crew.
It is worth noting that this upcoming series is the second collab between Mona Zaki and Media Hub Saadi-Gohar, after her previous cooperation with the company through the series “Newton’s Cradle”, which aired during Ramadan before last and was well received by viewers and achieved wild success.
