United Media Services (UMS) has congratulated Egyptian modern pentathlete Ahmed El-Gendy and weightlifter Sara Samir on their outstanding achievements at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Gendy made history for Egypt by winning the gold medal in modern pentathlon on Saturday, setting a world record of 1,555 points and becoming the first African athlete to accomplish this feat.

According to Egypt Today, this victory came after Sara Samir secured a silver in weightlifting earlier on the same day, and Mohamed El-Sayed won a bronze in fencing in late July. UMS, in a statement on Facebook, highlighted that Samir’s accomplishment “sends a strong message to the youth of Egypt, both male and female, showing that dreams can come true with determination and persistent.

Moreover, they praised Gendy for etching his name into Egypt’s Olympic history with his gold medal win, elevating the country’s name and flag in the French capital. The UMS commended Gendy as a role model for Egyptian youth, citing his determination, persistence, and strong will.
