Egypt is set to host a conference on Wednesday, organized by the Ministry of Transport, to discuss turning Egypt into a premier destination for yachting. Taking place in the New Administrative Capital, the conference will bring together investors and stakeholders in yacht tourism and marina construction, as well as investors in coastal villages and tourist destinations along the Mediterranean and Red Seas, the Gulf of Suez, and Aqaba. Accordingly, yachting enthusiasts can explore the country’s beautiful coastal areas and enjoy a luxurious yachting experience in Egypt.
Further, Egypt extended the tourist stay for tourists arriving on foreign tourist yachts from one month to three months last July. The Ministry of Transport has also taken steps to simplify and expedite procedures for foreign yachts arriving and departing from ports and marinas along the Egyptian coasts. These measures include establishing a single digital platform for foreign yachts and reducing approval time for tourist yacht programs from 15 to 30 days to just 30 minutes.
Additionally, a uniform docking tariff has been set at all government docks, passenger stations, and tourist ports, providing yachting enthusiasts with the freedom to choose their docking location based on announced prices, services offered, and their desired tourist itinerary. Moreover, yachts can now depart from any tourist port or marina, regardless of the location of the arrival port or marina they initially entered.
The conference is set to identify the mechanisms of developing local and international marinas. Further, several measures have already been implemented to facilitate the process for tourists arriving on foreign tourist yachts.
