“Tahet El Wesaya” Wins 7 Awards at Cairo Drama Festival 2023

Ramadan Series “Tahet El Wesaya”, which translates to (Under Guardianship), has recently received no less than seven awards during the activities of the Cairo Drama Festival 2023 in its 2nd and latest edition, held at New Alamein City.

The seven awards included: Best Actress, Best Director, Best Editing, Best Photography, Best Rising Star, Best Supporting Role, and Best Series.

The remarkable series included a distinguished group of cast and crew members, as it was written by Khaled and Sherine Diab, directed by Mohamed Shaker Khudair, and produced by Media Hub Saadi-Gohar, starring Mona Zaki, Mohamed Diab, Ahmed Khaled Saleh, Noha Abdeen, Rushdi Al-Shamy, Maha Nassar, Ali Al-Tayeb, Ahmed Abdel-Hamid, Mohamed Al-Swissy, along several talented actors.

On its part, the NCW, headed by Dr. Maya Morsy, congratulated the makers of the drama series for winning 7 awards at the Cairo Drama Festival.

Morsi expressed her great happiness and pride in the series winning these awards, stressing that it is a well-deserved victory for a drama series that spotlighted the reality with high professionalism for such an important social issue like the guardianship law, and the fruitful results of the makers’ efforts in crystallizing the difficulties that Egyptian women face in the file of guardianship over money after the death of the husband.

Notably, the series was previously honored by the National Council for Women among a list of dramatic works during the ceremony held by the Council to honor the heroes of the Ramadan drama supporting women for the year 2023.
