National Planning Institute Prepares to Launch Conference on Empowering Women

Dr. Ashraf Al-Arabi, President of the National Planning Institute, held an expanded meeting with the guests to discuss preparations for the Women’s Conference, scheduled to take place in cooperation between the three parties, on December 9 and 10, under the title “Empowering Women for Effective Participation in Development,” at the headquarters of the National Planning Institute in Cairo.

The “Empowering Women for Effective Participation in Development” conference comes within the framework of the keenness to improve the conditions of Arab women in light of original reformist thought.

The conference is set to witness the participation of a distinguished elite of women executives and pioneering businesswomen in Egypt and different countries, providing a unique opportunity to exchange experiences and review best practices in leadership and development work, which ensures the full and effective participation of women.

In the preparatory meeting, Al-Arabi received Ambassador Amal Al-Hamad, Advisor to the Director General of the Arab Planning Institute in Kuwait; Dr. Afnan Al-Shuaibi, Executive Director of the Women’s Development Organization for the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation; and Ambassador Ihab Fawzi, Deputy Executive Director of the Women’s Development Organization.
