Egypt, OECD Discuss Deepening Cooperation on Knowledge Sharing, Development

Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Egypt’s  Minister of International Cooperation, met virtually with Ragnheiður Elín Árnadóttir, Director of the Development Centre of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), to explore avenues for strengthening collaboration in knowledge exchange and development expertise.

The meeting focused on leveraging the OECD’s programs and platforms to facilitate knowledge transfer and share best practices in international cooperation among countries. This builds on the existing partnership between Egypt and the OECD, aiming to enhance the effectiveness of development efforts.

Discussions highlighted the importance of blended finance solutions and private sector engagement in development projects. Egypt’s “NWFE” platform for promoting water-food-energy nexus projects was presented as a model for mobilizing diverse funding sources Both parties emphasized the value of knowledge exchange platforms offered by the OECD Development Centre. This includes co-organizing events and publications to share best practices in development cooperation. The meeting acknowledged Egypt’s “AIMS” electronic system for managing development financing data.  Egypt’s “Private Sector Engagement Portal” was recognized as a successful initiative. It provides a one-stop shop for businesses to access financial and non-financial services from development partners.
