In a step toward enriching Egypt’s cultural and intellectual landscape with contemporary works that address the challenges of the digital era, Germien Amer, Head of Corporate Communications at The United Bank- Egypt, has signed publishing contracts for two new books to be released at the upcoming Cairo International Book Fair 2026.

The first book, titled “The Stage of Cybercrime”, delves into the hidden world of digital crime and cybersecurity threats. It explores the tactics used by hackers and cybercriminals to manipulate victims and commit online offenses, while also shedding light on community awareness and prevention strategies. A dedicated chapter examines the rise of influencer-related crimes and their psychological, social, and economic impacts — particularly those linked to social media fame and digital deception.

The book aims to raise digital literacy and public awareness about the dangers of online fraud, blackmail, and misinformation, encouraging individuals to protect themselves in an increasingly interconnected world.

The second book, titled “Influencers’ Planet”, serves as a continuation of Amer’s acclaimed series on the mechanisms of influencer media. Written in a narrative and analytical style, it unveils the intricate world of influencers and content creators across social media platforms, examining their impact on public opinion, consumer behavior, and cultural trends.

Amer also draws comparisons between real-world celebrities and digital-era influencers, highlighting how social media personalities have become powerful agents of soft influence — socially, economically, and culturally. The book further addresses the ethical and professional challenges facing modern media and concludes with a proposed “Code of Ethics for Influencers and Content Creators”, defining their rights and responsibilities toward society and the state.

Speaking about her upcoming releases, Germien Amer explained that the two books represent a natural extension of her intellectual and professional project — one that bridges academic research with the practical realities of new media.

“My goal is to simplify complex issues like cybersecurity, which poses social, psychological, and economic threats to individuals and societies alike,” Amer said. “At the same time, influencer media has evolved into a powerful form of soft power that deserves careful study and reflection — not only for its vast influence on younger generations but also for its role in shaping values, identity, and professional ethics in the digital era.”

With “The Stage of Cybercrime” and “Influencers’ Planet”, Germien Amer reaffirms her position as one of Egypt’s leading voices exploring the intersection of media, technology, and human behavior — offering a timely and insightful contribution to understanding life in the modern digital age.
