EBank, UNFPA, NCW Sign Strategic MoU to Empower Girls in Egypt

Mona Yousef

Marking International Day of the Girl, Export Development Bank of Egypt (EBank), led by Chairman Ahmed Galal, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), in collaboration with the National Council for Women (NCW).

The partnership aims to empower girls across Egypt by promoting equal opportunities in education, healthcare, and economic participation. It also focuses on supporting mental and physical well-being, enhancing leadership skills, and advocating for policies that protect girls’ rights and ensure their full participation in society.

In a statement, EBank emphasized that the initiative reflects its long-standing commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainable development.

The agreement outlines a multi-sectoral approach, with joint programs designed to:

  • Improve access to quality education and healthcare services for girls.
  • Strengthen economic empowerment and capacity-building
  • Promote leadership and civic engagement.
  • Encourage gender-sensitive policy reforms.

The MoU reinforces the shared vision of EBank, UNFPA, and the NCW to foster inclusive growth by creating a supportive environment where girls can thrive.  This collaboration forms part of a broader national effort to align with global goals, particularly Sustainable Development Goal 5 (gender equality), and reflects Egypt’s dedication to advancing gender equity through strategic public-private partnerships.
