Egypt’s Cabinet has clarified that the implementation of Daylight Saving Time (DST) aligns with the state’s efforts to rationalize electricity and energy consumption. Extending daylight hours is expected to reduce reliance on artificial lighting during evening hours, positively impacting the country’s overall energy consumption.
The official start date for Daylight Saving Time 2025 in Egypt is Friday, April 25th. On this date, clocks will be advanced by 60 minutes, marking the end of winter time, as per the Council of Ministers’ decree.
