Egypt’s ITIDA Signs MoU with Konecta to Establish Regional HQ in Cairo and Launch AI Centre of Excellence

Egypt’s Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Konecta, a Spain-based BPO provider, to set up the company’s regional headquarters in Cairo and create a centre of excellence for generative AI.

The agreement, witnessed by Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly and Minister of Communications Amr Talaat, underscores Egypt’s appeal as a technology hub. Konecta plans to invest $100 million over three years, creating 3,000 specialized jobs in AI, digital transformation, and other tech fields.

Prime Minister Madbouly emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing the communications sector and highlighted Egypt’s young, skilled workforce. Minister Talaat noted that the partnership will not only create jobs but also develop talent to meet the growing demand for digital services and outsourcing.

Konecta operates over 200 sites in 26 countries and generates approximately €2 billion in annual revenue.
