Egypt’s Ambassador to Tunisia, Bassem Hassan, recently met with Tunisia’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Al Sadeq Al Mouraly. The discussion tackled a new initiative aimed at fostering youth engagement through alternating youth camps between the two nations. These camps are designed to raise awareness about the risks of extremist ideologies and illegal migration, empowering the next generation with the tools to counter these threats.
The initiative is part of a broader vision to strengthen cooperation between Egypt and Tunisia, two nations united by shared cultural and historical ties. The camps will serve as an educational platform for youth from both countries to engage in meaningful dialogue, promoting tolerance, understanding, and shared values.
Ambassador Hassan also delivered an invitation on behalf of Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Ashraf Sobhy, inviting Minister Al Mouraly to attend the prestigious Sports Expo scheduled for February 2025. This major event, set to draw global attention, will feature leading industry professionals and a parallel “Soccerex” conference, where football executives, investors, and players will converge to explore business opportunities and the future of the sport.
The diplomatic exchange comes on the heels of a congratulatory message sent by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to his Tunisian counterpart, President Kais Saied, following his re-election in October. In his message, President El-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to bolstering bilateral cooperation across key sectors, from sports to economic development, with the goal of advancing the mutual interests of both nations.
With these ongoing initiatives, Egypt and Tunisia are positioning themselves as key partners in the Middle East and North Africa, focused on youth empowerment, regional stability, and global engagement.
