Egypt Solidarity Ministry seeks to improve child care facilities

Egyptian Minister of Social Solidarity Maya Morsi held discussions focused on intensifying efforts to develop care institutions and upgrade services provided to children across the country.

The Minister opened on Tuesday the inaugural meeting of the joint committee between the Ministry of Social Solidarity, the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood (NCCM), and the National Council for Women (NCW). The president of the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood, Sahar el-Sonbaty, attended the meeting.

Morsi highlighted her ministry’s strategies to foster partnerships and collaboration with all state institutions to improve services for Egyptian citizens. She underscored the ministry’s commitment to enhancing support for families and children, especially those in care facilities and those at risk.

She praised the NCCM and NCW’s major contributions to addressing critical societal challenges. Morsi emphasized the joint aims of the two councils and the Ministry of Social Solidarity. She also stated that the future era will witness increased collaboration, coordination, and knowledge exchange to maximize the impact of these initiatives, both domestically and internationally, in crucial areas such as family development, child welfare, women’s empowerment, and elderly care.
