Egypt’s Health Ministry Announces Steps to Treat Breast Cancer

The Ministry of Health and Population revealed a method for detecting breast cancer through the President’s initiative to support Egyptian women’s health.

The Ministry of Health and Population stated that the method includes:

1-   Examination of the woman by the specialized medical team.

2-   Recording the data in a confidential manner that preserves the patient’s rights.

3-   Providing only-female medical teams for examination.

4-   Refer patients to the radiology department to determine the degree of the tumor.

5-   The appropriate type of treatment is determined after knowing the type and degree of the tumor.

The Ministry of Health stated that the women’s health initiative provides examination and awareness services for women, starting from the age of 18, calling on women to periodically check on their health.

Moreover, the initiative provides its free services to examine women through 3,538 health units at the level of the governorates of the Republic, in addition to the participation of 102 hospitals, to provide medical service to women whose condition requires an advanced examination, pointing out that the locations of these units are available on the official website of the initiative, in addition to receiving inquiries through the hotline of the 100 Million Health Initiative at 15335.

The Ministry further stresses that early diagnosis and detection of breast tumors largely contribute to reducing the burden on the patient and the state through effective response to treatment protocols provided by the initiative free of charge following the latest international standards.
