UN Women Egypt just announced that it’s opening its doors for Egyptian women to step into the world of technology with a free online training program.

This training is designed to empower women in tech and equip them with the skills needed to thrive in the information and technology job market.

Moreover, it aims to promote productive employment and decent work for women in Egypt, Jordan, and Palestine and to empower women in Egypt.

Eligible candidates can choose from 4 tracks, including backend development, frontend development, Flutter, and Java programming.

Every Egyptian woman who holds a bachelor’s degree from a university and has reached the age of 22 is eligible to apply for the program, regardless of their governorate of residence.

Up to 280 women will have the opportunity to join this program, organized into 14 training groups. Half of them will progress to advanced training after completing the foundational phase.

Participants will gain insights into crafting professional resumes, excelling in job interviews, and mastering communication skills. Interactive seminars will empower candidates with the tools to effectively navigate the IT and software development job market, the program promises.

Furthermore, outstanding participants will also have the opportunity to engage in practical training with leading software companies.

In addition to teaching technical skills, this training also offers a holistic learning journey. It delves into areas of professional development and effective job-hunting strategies.

It is worth noting that this training initiative is a part of the joint regional effort between UN Women and the International Labour Organization (ILO), conducted in collaboration with the Egyptian Council for Training & Development (ECTD).

Spanning from basic to advanced, the training modules will start from August 2023 to January 2024. Each level supposedly lasts two months, two days a week.

Ultimately, the deadline for the application ends on 31 August. However, the training is accepting applications on a rolling basis from 5 August to 5 September until it reaches the desired number of participants.
