Forbes Middle East Healthcare Leaders 2025 list shines a spotlight on the executives, founders, and shareholders who are redefining the region’s healthcare ecosystem for the decade ahead. The latest edition recognizes 50 healthcare leaders who are founders and shareholders, alongside 100 top executives and CEOs steering some of the Middle East’s largest and most influential healthcare organizations.
At the top of the Shareholders and Founders category are a group of visionary leaders driving innovation across pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, and healthcare delivery — including several prominent Egyptian women whose achievements are transforming both the national and regional landscape.
Among the most notable names is Hend El Sherbini, Group CEO of Integrated Diagnostics Holdings (IDH). El Sherbini has helmed IDH since 2012, expanding it into one of the Middle East and Africa’s largest diagnostic networks. With over 668 branches across Egypt, Jordan, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, and Sudan, IDH performs more than 3,000 diagnostic tests, serving millions annually. In the first half of 2025, the company reported $71.4 million in revenue, up 42% year-on-year, while net profit rose 19% to $11.5 million. In December 2024, IDH increased its stake in Biolab KSA to 79% through a $3.2 million acquisition — a strategic move that cements its footprint in the Gulf’s growing diagnostics market.
Another standout is Magda Habib, Cofounder and CEO of Dawi Clinics, whose inclusion underscores Egypt’s growing role in digital and community-based healthcare. Since launching Dawi Clinics in 2016 with Mairose Doss, Habib has built a network of 30 clinics and medical centers across Egypt, offering fully integrated family healthcare through digital platforms. From online patient engagement to comprehensive electronic medical records, Dawi’s approach has become a model for technology-driven healthcare accessibility. Before Dawi, Habib co-founded Fawry, Egypt’s leading electronic payments company, and continues to serve on its board.
Together, El Sherbini and Habib embody a new generation of healthcare leaders who are merging medical expertise, digital innovation, and business acumen to reimagine how healthcare is delivered in the Middle East. Their inclusion in Forbes Middle East’s 2025 ranking signals not only a personal achievement but also a broader recognition of Egypt’s growing influence in regional healthcare innovation.
The Healthcare Leaders 2025 list continues Forbes Middle East’s mission to celebrate changemakers who are setting new standards in accessibility, innovation, and sustainability — from diagnostics and pharmaceuticals to health-tech startups and cross-border collaborations. For Egypt, the presence of women like El Sherbini and Habib underscores an undeniable reality: the future of healthcare leadership in the Middle East is not only global, but increasingly female.
