According to Vice Minister for Tourism of Egypt, Ghada Shalaby, the number of tourists visiting Egypt increased by 27% during the first four months of 2024.

This growth was supported by inbound tourism from Arab countries, which witnessed a 54% increase compared to the same period in 2023.

Shalaby made these statements while participating in Dubai’s Arabian Travel Market (ATM). She expressed optimism about the tourism season 2024, coinciding with Egyptian measures to support promotional programs, facilitate tourist visas, and target new markets such as India, Australia, and Turkiye.

Nearly 70 Egyptian companies and investors from the tourism, aviation, hotel, and hospitality sectors participated in the event, aiming to engage and explore future partnerships with their counterparts from the GCC countries and the Middle East. Their goal is to attract more foreign investments from new markets worldwide.

Moreover, Egypt’s participation in the global event is part of the measures taken by the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism to encourage more Arab tourist movement, especially from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
