EgyptAir Launches Free In-Flight Wi-Fi on Select Aircraft to Elevate Passenger Experience

Egypt’s national carrier, EgyptAir, has rolled out a new free in-flight Wi-Fi service across a number of its modern aircraft, marking a step forward in improving passenger comfort and onboard connectivity.

According to an official statement reported by Cairo 24, the initiative took effect on April 15, offering travelers complimentary internet access during their flights.

Expanding onboard connectivity

Airlines globally have increasingly invested in onboard connectivity as passengers expect uninterrupted access to messaging, email, and entertainment services Thus, Egypt Air  airline said the move is designed to meet growing passenger expectations for seamless digital access while flying, as well as to elevate the overall travel experience.

The service is currently available on several of EgyptAir’s newer aircraft, including:

  • Airbus A350-900
  • Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner
  • Boeing 737 MAX 8
  • Airbus A321
  • Airbus A320neo

What passengers can expect

Under the new offering, passengers can:

  • Use email applications free of charge for up to two hours during the flight
  • Access internet-based apps
  • Make voice calls via online communication platforms

While the airline has not disclosed whether premium tiers or extended packages will be introduced later, the initial rollout signals a broader push toward digital transformation in Egypt’s aviation sector.
