This morning marked the inauguration of a four-day training program titled “Methodology for Generational Dialogue.” The program, organized by the National Council for Women in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), aims to train 48 facilitators and volunteers in the governorates of Giza and East.

Its objective is to launch an expansive community dialogue between different generations, with a focus on fostering greater understanding, cooperation, and harmony among participants.

Professor Isis Mahmoud, who heads the Central Department of Training and Development at the Council, has announced a new training program aimed at promoting positive dialogue and active listening between all parties involved, while respecting cultural traditions and addressing harmful practices.

The program will initially be launched as a pilot phase in two villages located in Giza and Sharqyah governorates, where harmful practices against women and girls such as early marriage, circumcision, and violence are prevalent.

The Council has launched various door-to-door campaigns and awareness meetings, and now, a new methodology will be implemented in conjunction with them.

This methodology will give the recipient a greater role in understanding and rethinking their beliefs, arguments, and foundations. It will also provide a stronger opportunity and longer time for outreach to discuss these beliefs, which will hopefully encourage the forum to voluntarily abandon them.
