Telecom Egypt (WE) has donated the first ULTRApulse® Alpha CO₂ therapeutic laser device to Ahl Masr Hospital, the pioneering medical institution in Egypt, the Middle East, and Africa dedicated to the treatment of burn injuries.
This significant contribution is part of Telecom Egypt’s broader corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy, with a particular focus on pediatric health. The initiative continues a strategic partnership with Ahl Masr Foundation that spans over a decade, during which WE has consistently provided both financial and technological support to bolster the foundation’s humanitarian mission.
The donation coincided with a recent site visit by a senior Telecom Egypt delegation to Ahl Masr Hospital in New Cairo. The visiting team included Lobna Helal, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors, and Eng. Mohamed Nasr, CEO and Managing Director of Telecom Egypt, along with several board and executive members. The delegation reviewed the hospital’s advanced infrastructure, including state-of-the-art intensive care and emergency units, as well as its specialized surgical and rehabilitation departments.
Dr. Heba El Sewedy, Founder and Chair of the Board of Trustees of Ahl Masr Foundation and Hospital, expressed her profound gratitude for the new device, emphasizing its transformative impact: “This is the first device of its kind in Egypt and the entire region, uniquely engineered to improve the appearance of scars, alleviate pain, and help patients regain a sense of normalcy and functionality. Such advanced capabilities empower us to deliver world-class, specialized healthcare to our patients.”
The ULTRApulse® Alpha CO₂ laser device is regarded as a revolutionary leap in burn care, significantly enhancing both the efficacy and comfort of treatment. Unlike traditional methods, where multiple sessions may be required to achieve visible improvement, this device can condense six to eight traditional laser sessions into a single treatment—dramatically reducing patient discomfort, treatment duration, and psychological trauma, especially in children.
Eng. Mohamed Nasr affirmed the company’s long-standing commitment to community welfare. “We are proud of our enduring partnership with Ahl Masr Foundation, which over the years has allowed us to contribute meaningfully to alleviating the suffering of burn victims.”, he said
He further added: “We are continually exploring the most impactful ways—technological and financial alike—to ensure that our support leads to tangible, life-improving outcomes for young patients.”
This initiative underscores the importance of cross-sector collaboration in healthcare, championing health equity and pediatric welfare.
