United Media Services (UMS) appointed Mrs. Dina Abdel Fattah, founder of TOP 50 Women Forum, to be the first woman to occupy a board member position in UMS, the largest media conglomerate in the MENA region with over 30 subsidiaries.

Dina Abdel Fattah is the Founder & CEO of  Exlnt Communication. She also has been the Editor-in-Chief of Amwal El Ghad Magazine Egypt since 2009. She has a truly remarkable influence while holding other various leadership position . One of her achievements was the launch of the 1st state-owned economic news supplement in 2007 with the title of ‘Banks and Financial Institutions’. Abdel Fattah co-founded the ‘Business Women Forum’ in 1996.

Dina is a graduate of Cairo University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication and Journalism in 1989. She holds a Master’s Degree in Mass Communication and Journalism from the American University in Cairo.  In 2021, she was honored by the Syndicate of Media Professionals.

TOP 50 Women Forum Inks MOU With DCarbon TO Boost Sustainability Awareness Among Women

TOP 50 Women Forum signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with DCarbon Egypt for sustainability consultancy on Wednesday to raise sustainability awareness among Egyptian women and qualify them to conduct sustainability reporting.

This Protocol aims to enhance the level of achievement of sustainable development goals through cooperation to provide research, consultancy, and community development solutions. This is in addition to organizing workshops and conferences on sustainable development that sustainable development, climate change, along with the impact of public and private companies as well NGOs in this regard either on national, regional, and international levels.

TOP 50 Women Forum is the first-of-its-kind platform that brings together female technocrats in Egypt. The forum was set up by 50 honorees recognized as the most influential women in the Egyptian economy during “Egypt For the Best Summit 2016”, which was held in January 2016 under the auspices of Egypt’s Prime Minister. The Forum targets to promote women’s role as key partners in socio-economic development. The Forum’s members are female ministers, and C-suite executives working for major companies operating in various economic sectors, as well as female entrepreneurs.

 

TOP 50 Women Forum, Institute of National Planning Sign Protocol For Empowering and Qualifying Women

TOP 50 Women Forum signed on Wednesday a cooperation protocol with the Institute of National Planning (INP) to scale up empowerment of Egyptian empowerment and qualify the next generation of women with pioneering success, supporting women in futuristic planning. Further, the protocol aims to support female fresh -graduates, new hires, as well as first and second-line leaders working in public and private business sectors to achieve career-life balance and professional excellence.

The protocol’s objective is to create accredited training programs for female trainees who will receive completion certificates after the final assessment. The protocol ensures sectoral diversity. This protocol will also extend various partnerships with public and private partnerships, either globally or locally.

The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) is an international, multi-stakeholder and independent non-profit organization that has developed Sustainability Reporting guidelines for corporates that strive to increase their eco-friendly footprint, as well as the accountability of economic, environmental, and social performance.  Accordingly, Egyptian companies will be able to realize the methods of achieving sustainability, as well as how to manage the reform to address any management issues.

TOP 50 Women Forum launched the “Women Towards Sustainability” seminar, in collaboration with the Institute of National Planning (INP), DCarbon Sustainability Consultancy on Wednesday, October 12th, 2022.

The seminar witnessed the attendance of Dr. Ashraf Al Araby- President of INB-, the media person Dina Abdel Fattah-the Forum’s Founder and Chairperson-, Dr. Ehab Shalaby- CEO and Managing Director of the DCarbon, , Dr. Hesham Eissa, Former Egyptian Focal Point, UNFCCC, and Dr. Hala Abou Ali, Environmental Planning and Development Centre, Institute of National Planning (INP).

The organizing entities targeted to launch the first- of its kind integrated climate awareness program for women in business and female leaders in support of the transition to the green economy and preservation of the environment. The program highlights the impact of climate change and women’s role in addressing it. The seminar was held in parallel with Egypt’s preparations to host the incoming 27th Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC (COP 27) in Sharm El Shiekh by next November.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Ashraf Al Araby, President of INB-,  highlighted that INP’s partnership With TOP 50 Women Forum, DCarbon aligned with Egypt’s vision 2030 and INP’s women empowerment prospects and strategy that was set up in 2015.

“INP’s strategy pursues women empowerment at all levels”, said Al Araby. He also referred that INP has been looking forward to extending cooperation in advancing women’s empowerment and sustainable development for the 3rd consecutive year. These efforts have been exerted within the framework of the institute’s second five-year plan.

As stated by Dr. Al Araby, INP offers various programs of post-graduate studies, in addition to consultancy services in planning and development for either public or private entities operating in several sectors. Further, INP reached various international partnerships with World Bank and the Arab Planning Institute.

In the same context, the Forum’s Founder and Chairperson, Dina Abdel Fattah, availed the launch of specialized training programs for female cadres and women in business, in cooperation with the Institute of National Planning and DCarbon, sustainability consultancy.

“These specialized training programs will be developed for trainees working in several sectors, such as financial, banking, and fashion sectors. This is in addition to a prime focus on the green economy”, said Dina.

She also referred to the high women’s representation rates in the abovementioned sectors. Hence, the training programs will offer the female trainees the support and consultancy required for qualifying them.

“The forum also mulls introducing master’s programs in women’s studies, as there aren’t enough post-graduate programs available in this regard”, said Dina.

On the other hand, Dr. Ehab Shalaby, DCarbon- Egypt CEO, stated that DCarbon has prioritized sustainability localization and capacity-building for achieving sustainability.

“The Egyptian culture should be incorporated in sustainability, in order to address the challenges that the country is facing to be turned into opportunities”, he added.

Dr. Ehab also referred to the exceptional challenges that the world has been facing. He also highlighted the impact of clime change and Egypt’s preparation for the upcoming climate-related mega event, which is COP 27.

He also announced forming an action group to promote sustainability, highlighting that sustainability has just been a  mere perception in Egypt 4 years ago. Yet,  our unique vision to achieve it has been fruitful.

In Partnership with INP and DCarbon TOP 50 Women Forum Launches Integrated Program To Support Green Economy Transition and Climate Action

As Egypt prepares to host and chair the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 27) in Sharm EL Shiekh by next November, the Top 50 Forum collaborates with the Institute of National Planning (INP), DCarbon Sustainability Consultancy to launch “Women Towards Sustainability” seminar. The seminar introduces the first climate awareness training for women in business and female leaders, remarking the women’s role in addressing these changes, as women are rendered the worst affected segment, according to international reports. The seminar will take place on Wednesday, October 12th, 2022.

The session’s agenda entails an orientation about the coming COP 27 and its role in propelling international efforts in this regard, along with discussing women’s role in climate action. It will also raise awareness among women about the severity of these changes. As relevant studies proved, women are considered the most affected segment by climate change, either economically or socially.

Egypt has already taken serious steps to mitigate climate change, including the restructuring of the National Council for Climate Change chaired by Egypt’s Prime Minister, Moustafa Madbouly. Further, more economic sectors have been integrated into the climate action efforts in development. The climate change strategies of adaptation and mitigation are currently carried out, in collaboration with ministries and the Green Climate Fund to set a plan for attracting investments for positive climate action.
