Planning Minister Reviews Plans of Family Development Project

Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Hala Al-Saeed, held a meeting to follow up on the executive plans of the National Project for the Development of the Egyptian Family in the presence of Maya Morsi, President of the National Council for Women; Amira Tawadros, Director of the Demographic Center; Gamil Helmy, Assistant Minister for Follow-up Affairs of the Sustainable Development Plan; and Khaled Zakaria, Advisor to the Minister for Public Policies and Structural Reforms.

Dr. Khaled Zakaria began the session by detailing the steps implemented in the various axes of the project, most notably the axis of economic empowerment, the axis of awareness and digital transformation, and the rest of the axes of the project, referring to the executive position of the ministries and agencies partnering in the project, and the future plan in the new fiscal year.

For her part, Amira Tawadros gave a presentation about the Egyptian Family Development Project platform, which will serve as a database for women who benefit from the project’s various services nationwide.

Jamil Helmy also gave a presentation on the projects that will be focused on in the development plan for the new fiscal year to serve the project’s objectives and the initiatives that are being prepared to ensure the integration of the various development projects in the new fiscal year with the objectives of the National Family Development Project, especially at the governorate level.

During the meeting, Dr. Maya reviewed the most prominent effort made by the National Council for Women within the framework of its pivotal role in the family development project and the most prominent achievements in all aspects of the project.

The minister directed the preparation of an integrated vision for the services that the Family Development Project will provide to women who benefit from it, starting with the deferred savings document and the rest of the insurance and financing services that will contribute to raising the standard of the Egyptian family, which will be provided in cooperation with banks, insurance companies, and the Egyptian Post.

She further stressed that the project relies on a development approach to addressing the population issue, aiming to improve the characteristics of the population and improve the quality of life.

At the end of the meeting, Saeed praised the extent of the implementation steps achieved for the project, especially by the National Council for Women, and stressed the necessity of coordination with all ministries and agencies partnering with the project, especially with the Ministry of Health and Population, the Ministry of Social Solidarity, and the rest of the bodies.
