Omar Khairat to Perform Live at the Cairo Opera House on September 23rd

Veteran Composer Omar Khairat, who is Egyptian, will have a live performance at the Main Hall of the Cairo Opera House on September 23-24.

Khairat is planning to showcase some of his greatest works during the performance. He was born on November 11, 1948, in the Al Sayeda Zainab neighborhood in Cairo, to a family that had a passion for the arts and the piano. His musical education took place at the Conservatoire, which was established by his uncle.

According to Sada el Balad He started learning piano in 1959 with the Italian Professor Caro and then furthered his studies in music composition in London. Khairat is recognized as one of the most exceptional composers globally.

He was part of the popular Egyptian rock band called Les Petits Chats, which was formed in 1967. The band gained immense popularity in the late 1960s and early 1970s, performing songs in Italian, French, and English. Khairat played the drums for Les Petits Chats until 1971.
