EU Representatives, Ambassadors to participate in the Egyptian Women’s Summit on March 3 & 4

The Egyptian Women’s Summit, scheduled to take place under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly on March 3 and 4, announced the participation of many representatives and ambassadors of European and Arab countries in the events and sessions of the third addition to review the best international practices and experiences in achieving gender balance, improving women’s leadership capabilities and strengthening their contributions in all business sectors.

The Top 50 Women Forum, which organizes the summit in partnership with the National Council for Women and the European Union, indicated that the head of the European Union delegation to Egypt Ambassador Christian Berger, USAID Mission Director Sean Jones, Ambassador of Sweden Hokan Emsjord, Ambassador of Cyprus Pauli Ioannou, Ambassador of Estonia in Cairo Ingrid Amer, Ambassador of Romania Olivia Toderian, Ambassador of Ireland Nola O’Brien, and Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia Andres Reznes will be participating in the event.

During the summit, representatives and ambassadors will present a set of frameworks and recent work experiences related to the file of women’s empowerment and achieving gender balance in light of the qualitative initiatives carried out by these countries in cooperation with many governmental and private institutions in Egypt, in addition to discussing the provision of funding and rehabilitation mechanisms required to enhance women’s successes and confirm their role in accelerating sustainable and comprehensive development goals.

Under the slogan “A 360° Guide towards  Women’s Prosperous Lives “, the summit will be launched with the participation of an expanded international and local women’s gathering and the presence of a group of senior government officials and experts, as well as representatives of university youth from female students and owners of development initiatives, aiming to adopt the best policies that enhance the influential role of professional women, and building expanded partnerships to increase their impact in all fields related to societal and economic development, within the framework of fulfilling the vision of the political leadership aimed at achieving gender equality and eliminating various forms of discrimination against women in the workplace and women’s economic empowerment.

For her part, Dina Abdel Fattah, President of the Top 50 Women Forum and Secretary-General of the Egyptian Women’s Summit, said that the participation of this high-level delegation of representatives of European countries in the activities of the third edition reflects the status enjoyed by Egyptian women during the current period, and their openness to international experiences to strengthen their career paths and enable change and address the biggest challenges they face in their professional and social lives.

She added that the summit is keen on the interaction of representatives and ambassadors of European countries in all the summit’s activities, which include sessions, workshops, and an art exhibition documenting the successes of Egyptian women, in addition to the employment forum, to inform them of the diversity and competence that Egyptian women currently possess, whether from senior women leaders to new generations who enjoy world-class levels of education and training and their close link to the goals of the Egyptian state for development and quality of life.

Abdel Fattah pointed out that the summit is keen to come up with qualitative initiatives in cooperation with these countries to serve the goals of women’s empowerment sought by the Egyptian state, noting that the goals of the new session of the summit are consistent with the goals of international entities related to achieving gender balance such as the United Nations and the European Union.

Through its multiple activities, the summit promotes the creation of sustainable communication circles between female cadres in all fields, to enhance the levels of inspiration for new generations in achieving their own experiences and reaching record levels of success, through the launch of the first edition of the exhibition «Egyptian Female Figures» in cooperation with the European Union, which documents the journey of the renaissance of Egyptian women throughout the ages and contains the largest illustrated encyclopedia of the most aspiring Egyptian women figures, who have achieved record successes in many fields and wrote their names in golden letters on the memory and future of the homeland, in a way that nourishes the spirit of belonging and positivity among new generations looking for success and excellence.

The summit activities will also witness the launch of the “First Employment Forum – Empowering Women to Empower Egypt”, which promotes the exploration of types of jobs that suit women and provides job opportunities for graduates and training opportunities for male and female students to qualify for the labor market in cooperation with development partners to form a state of positivity in the forum.

In addition, the event will be holding workshops targeted at enforcing the correct career orientation to make informed career decisions, opening new horizons to develop students’ competitive capabilities and prepare them for work life, and allocating space for each participating institution to provide information to female participants and assist them in engaging in direct dialogues with job seekers and obtaining career advice through interactive sessions.

The event will witness several events and panel discussions aimed at enhancing career growth opportunities and mentorship for women as well as business networking events for each sector to develop professional life and reach senior positions, from entrepreneurship to leadership to public relations, finance, brilliance in professional life, strategic planning and leadership skills, and enhance communication skills to join the right jobs.
