The National Council for Women (NCW) has appointed Dr. Suzan El Kalliny as its official spokesperson, reinforcing the Council’s commitment to leveraging distinguished national media expertise to strengthen its public engagement and advocacy for women’s empowerment.
The appointment was announced by Counselor Amal Ammar, President of the National Council for Women, following the Council’s latest regular meeting. Dr. El Kalliny, who currently serves as an NCW member and Rapporteur of the Media Committee, brings decades of experience in media, strategic communications, academia, and public service to the role.
Dr. El Kalliny has held several prominent leadership positions throughout her career. She served as Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Ain Shams University from 2015 to 2019 before becoming Dean of the College of Media at Liwa University in the United Arab Emirates from 2019 to 2022. She currently serves as Media Advisor and Official Spokesperson to the President of Ain Shams University, in addition to her role as Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of Ain Shams National University.
Her professional experience also includes serving as Media Advisor to the Minister of Health and Population, Media Advisor to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, membership in the inaugural board of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation, membership of the Media Sector Committee at the Supreme Council of Universities, and participation in the Media Committee of the Supreme Council of Culture.
Academically, Dr. El Kalliny has built an outstanding scholarly record, authoring more than 23 academic books and publishing over 40 peer-reviewed research papers in international scientific journals. She has also supervised and examined more than 120 master’s and doctoral theses while actively participating in numerous national and international academic conferences.
The appointment reflects the National Council for Women’s confidence in Dr. El Kalliny’s expertise in institutional communications and strategic media. Her leadership is expected to further strengthen the Council’s media presence while highlighting its initiatives to advance women’s rights, gender equality, and women’s empowerment across Egypt.
