Catalyzing the presidential initiative “Bedaya,” the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) and the banking sector have actively participated in the recent “Good Week” events aimed at supporting vulnerable groups in Alexandria. Launched by the “Tahya Misr” Fund, this initiative unfolded over five days, focusing on various community-driven projects designed to uplift those in need.
A standout feature of the initiative was the comprehensive medical caravan, which provided free health screenings and treatments across multiple specialties. This caravan offered essential services, including eyeglasses, hearing aids, prosthetic limbs, laboratory tests, and X-rays, ensuring that community members could access necessary healthcare. Moreover, it facilitated medical referrals, helping individuals receive adequate treatment.
The initiative also tackled basic needs through the distribution of essential goods and support for the “Joy Shop,” which aims to prepare vulnerable girls for marriage by offering clothing exhibitions and necessary supplies. This multifaceted approach not only enhances social protection but also seeks to improve the overall living conditions of community members.
In a further demonstration of commitment to inclusivity, the event launched the “Best Friend” initiative, raising awareness about the Integrated Services Card for individuals with disabilities. This initiative provided a substantial number of Braille materials and other tailored resources to support the needs of the disabled community.
Through these efforts, the CBE and its partners are making strides toward fostering a more inclusive society, enhancing access to essential services, and improving the quality of life for vulnerable groups in Alexandria.
