In Egypt, temperatures are set to gradually increase from Tuesday onwards, with the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) projecting a nationwide rise of 2-3 degrees Celsius.
The EMA, with its extensive knowledge and experience, anticipates light morning fog in particular agricultural and major roads close to water bodies, accompanied by moderate winds that may occasionally strengthen.
As per an article by Al Ahram Online, Temperatures in Cairo and Lower Egypt are forecasted to climb to 37°C, while daytime temperatures in South Sinai could soar to 41°C.
Along the North Coast, temperatures are expected to be cooler at around 32°C.
In Northern Upper Egypt, daytime highs will hit 40°C, with even hotter temperatures of 44°C expected in Southern Upper Egypt throughout the week.
The persistent high temperatures affecting much of the country in recent weeks highlight a concerning pattern of increasing heatwaves in the region, driven by rising global temperatures. This underscores the urgent need for measures to mitigate the potential risks of heat waves.
Experts attribute this to global climate change and local environmental factors, which have led to unprecedented heatwaves.
Furthermore, they caution that these extreme heat events could become more frequent and more severe.
The EMA has recommended that citizens stay well-hydrated and abstain from outdoor activities during peak heat hours. These recommendations are aimed at ensuring your safety and well-being during the upcoming heatwave.
