Egyptian Cardiologist Dr. Alia Hassan Abdel Fattah Receives ASNC 2026 Global Impact Gold Medal

The National Council for Women (NCW) has congratulated Dr. Alia Hassan Abdel Fattah, Professor of Critical Care Medicine at Kasr Al Ainy Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, and former Head of the Critical Care Department, on receiving the 2026 Global Impact Gold Medal in Nuclear Cardiology from the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC), one of the highest international honors in the specialty.

The congratulatory message was issued by NCW President Counselor Amal Ammar, together with the Council’s Vice President and members, who praised the distinguished Egyptian physician for achieving global recognition in one of medicine’s most specialized fields.

Counselor Amal Ammar described the award as an outstanding scientific achievement that reflects the growing international stature of Egyptian women in medical research, science, and healthcare. She emphasized that the recognition demonstrates the ability of Egyptian women scientists to compete successfully at the highest international levels while strengthening Egypt’s global scientific reputation.

She also noted that Dr. Abdel Fattah’s accomplishment represents an inspiring example of Egyptian women’s excellence, highlighting her dedication to innovation, academic leadership, and scientific advancement. The Council expressed its best wishes for her continued success and future achievements that will further elevate Egypt’s standing within the international medical community.

Dr. Alia Hassan Abdel Fattah is internationally recognized as one of the leading pioneers in nuclear cardiology. Throughout her distinguished career, she has made significant contributions to advancing the specialty and expanding its clinical applications, while also playing a central role in educating and mentoring generations of physicians and researchers in Egypt and abroad.
