The National Planning Institute (NPI) and Egypt’s National Council for Women (NCW) are strengthening their partnership to support evidence-based policymaking and advance the implementation of the National Strategy for the Empowerment of Egyptian Women 2030.
During a meeting held at the institute’s headquarters, senior officials discussed opportunities to expand cooperation across several priority areas, including policy development, performance measurement, monitoring and evaluation, research, and data analysis.
The discussions focused on enhancing institutional collaboration to improve the monitoring of women’s empowerment indicators and support informed decision-making through scientific research and reliable evidence.
The National Planning Institute reaffirmed its commitment to providing technical and research expertise to help track the implementation of the National Strategy for the Empowerment of Egyptian Women 2030. Planned areas of cooperation include strengthening monitoring and evaluation systems and supporting the development of the Egyptian Women Observatory to improve the collection, analysis, and reporting of gender-related data.
Both institutions also highlighted the importance of developing performance indicators, producing policy-oriented research, and generating analytical reports that can support national planning and measure the impact of women’s empowerment initiatives across different sectors.
The expanded partnership is also expected to contribute to building the capacities of women and young professionals in planning and sustainable development while promoting greater reliance on data-driven policymaking and evidence-based public administration.
By combining research expertise with national gender-focused initiatives, the collaboration aims to strengthen Egypt’s long-term efforts to promote women’s empowerment, improve policy effectiveness, and support inclusive national development.
