The Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park confirmed the launch of the fourth edition of the “Women in the Tech” Global Forum on the 20th of this month, in cooperation with the “Women in Tech” Foundation.
Also participating in the event is a group of the most prominent leading figures, including researchers, specialists, representatives of international organizations, and advocates of women’s empowerment, as well as a number of female entrepreneurs, directors of several government agencies, and representatives of civil society.
The forum will focus on exploring modern innovations and investment opportunities that support the world’s efforts to achieve climate equality, by bringing together many specialists to review a group of advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence solutions, robotics, digitization, hydrogen, and renewable energy, coinciding with the “Year of Sustainability” in UAE, to highlight the role of women in technology and innovation, enhance their influence at the global level, and maximize their contributions to social and economic development in this sector.
The forum’s agenda varies from women’s leadership in family businesses to highlighting the power of youth in leading sustainable innovation. The forum also includes the Women in the Technology Mena Awards in its second edition, one of the important international awards organized at the global level.
The main goal is to celebrate inspiring female role models in the technology sectors and empower them as active participants in the development and shaping of our future.
The award, in its second edition for the region, is organized within the Women in the Technology Sector Forum to celebrate inspiring and exceptional female figures and distinguished women’s success stories.
Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park, will deliver a keynote speech during the forum, which will be held under the title “Sustainability and Sustainable Innovation,” to highlight what women are achieving in this vital sector as part of the UAE’s preparations to host the COP28 Conference of the Parties.
Moreover, an elite group of speakers will participate in the forum’s sessions in inspiring sessions, keynote speeches, and business presentations, where participants will address a number of topics that focus on the pioneering role of women in the fields of scientific research and technological innovation, in addition to their pioneering role in various fields of life and contributing to the leadership of society.
The forum will additionally address several global issues that highlight the role of women and their achievements in this field, as well as ways to overcome the challenges they face to pave the way for sustainable innovation, and compatibility with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations – a roadmap for global transformation, by highlighting Innovation and sustainability interact with 17 sustainable development goals.
