Yesterday, Social Solidarity Minister Nevine Al Qabbaj said the Women’s Economic and Social Empowerment Program, funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID), aims to support women in various sectors.
The minister made the remarks during a meeting with representatives of USAID and Pathfinder International.
The talks tackled means of promoting cooperation between the program and the Ministry of Social Solidarity.
The program aims at enhancing employment programs of the ministry, especially programs for the most vulnerable people and participants in the Forsa and Takaful programs.
The Meeting also reviewed plans for expanding financial inclusion for women.
On their part, USAID representatives and the program’s action team thanked the Social Solidarity Ministry for rallying efforts to reach positive outcomes.
They stressed their keenness to further cooperate with the ministry in the coming period.
The program is being implemented in seven governorates; Giza, Cairo, Beheira, Menya, Assiut, Sohag, and Qena.
