Egypt’s El-Sisi Congratulates Al-Ahly Red Devils on Claiming 11th African Title

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi congratulated Egypt’s Al-Ahly SC on claiming their 11th African title after a 1-1 tie with Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca played in Mohamed V Stadium.

The team won the 2023 CAF Champions League for the 11th after a 1-1 tie with Morocco’s Wydad on Sunday in Mohamed V Stadium.

In the 27th minute, Wydad’s player Yahia Attiyat Allah scored the first goal in the match.

However, in the 78th minute, Al Ahly’s defender Mohamed Abdel Monem scored, bringing the game to a tie. 

In the first leg of the final, Al-Ahly defeated Wydad with a score of 2-1 in yesterday’s match at Cairo International Stadium. 

Al-Ahly now holds the record for the most Champions League titles in Africa with 11 wins, while Wydad has won the title three times.

According to Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy, the president lauded the historic achievement made by the national team, as well as the high spirit and determination shown by the Pharaohs during the final game.

Moreover, El-Sisi wished the Egyptian sports team further victories in upcoming championships.
