Local Media

In an effort to turn Egypt into an industrial hub, the “Ibda” (Start) initiative was launched as a presidential initiative for the youth. This national initiative pushes the Industrial Sector in Egypt to new horizons for localizing modern industry, narrowing the import gap, and preparing labor for market needs.

The initiative mainly targets manufacturing products or production inputs that the Egyptian market needs. Hence, it derives the industrial sector towards the realization of sustainable economic and social growth, provision of clean energy solutions, creativity in the industrial field, and responsible production and consumption.

Recently, the initiative has launched a national project to support the digital transformation of the Egyptian industrial sector; with a prime focus on three main pillars, which are: 1) governance and automation of internal management processes in factories through the application of enterprise resource management systems (ERP), 2) supporting the expansion of marketing and sales operations, in cooperation with major e-commerce platforms, in addition to 3) supporting the industrial value chain and networking between local factories at the level of services, production requirements, and products, through the establishment of a unified database for the industrial sector in Egypt.

The initiative’s main goal is to stimulate the PPP’s role in boosting industrial development.
