The Egyptian cabinet issued a statement announcing a trial period for the remote work system for 6 months at the Ministry of Telecommunication and Information Technology as well as the Central Agency for Organization and Administration.
By the end of the trial period, the working system assessment will be reported to the cabinet for further evaluation. Yet, the government has not declared any further details on the decision.
The remote work trial represents a part of the Egyptian government’s ongoing relocation of its headquarters and entities from Cairo to the New Administrative City (NAC).
According to the cabinet’s recent statement, 14 ministries and government entities have already moved to the NAC, with more ministries and entities to follow in the upcoming weeks.
During Wednesday’s meeting, the cabinet also announced that 19 government entities will begin relocating to the NAC next week.
