Air Cairo launches weekly Direct flights between Sharm El-Sheikh, Saudi Arabia, UAE

Air Cairo, a subsidiary of Egypt’s flag carrier EgyptAir, announced that it has launched new flights between Dubai, Jeddah, Riyadh, and Sharm El-Sheikh.

The commercial airline began operating biweekly flights between the cities on 20 April.

This is in line with the efforts of the Ministry of Civil Aviation to promote tourism to Egypt, especially from Arab Gulf countries.

The first flights on these new routes operated at a capacity above 95 percent, thanks in part to the easing of entry visa restrictions on foreigners arriving to Sharm El-Sheikh.

Hussein Sharif, chairman of Air Cairo’s board of directors, said the aircraft flying these routes are the company’s latest E190 aircraft.

The new flights were arranged in coordination with several hotels in Sharm El-Sheikh to support air and tourist movement and attract Arab tourists to Egyptian destinations, he said.

He added that the company aims to increase its air fleet and network, schedule additional flights and increase seating capacity for trips to many Egyptian tourist spots
