Minister of Higher Education Ayman Ashour said that the future vision of the system of higher education and scientific research (2022-2023) aims at paying attention to globalizing the higher education and increasing the partnership with the international prominent universities especially in the field of technology in light of the fast technological progress.
This came during Ashour’s meeting with Italian Ambassador to Egypt Michele Quaroni to discuss the mechanisms of scientific and technological cooperation between Egypt and Italy.
Ashour lauded the distinguished ties between Egypt and Italy, asserting the strength of scientific and educational ties between both countries especially in the fields of higher education and scientific research. This is in addition to the importance of continuing the implementation of the scientific projects between Egypt and Italy and benefiting from the Italian expertise in the fields of engineering, energy and technological education.
Ashour reviewed the strategy of higher education and scientific research, which copes with achieving the targets of sustainable development (Egypt Vision 2030).
He said that Egypt has 27 governmental universities, 27 private universities, 20 non-profit national universities, 10 technological universities and 7 branches of international universities in the New Administrative Capital, asserting that the Ministry of Higher Education implemented an ambitious plan to expand the availability of higher education and cope with the increasing population.
