Minister of Environment Yasmin Fouad has stressed the importance of cooperating with the banking sector on the sustainable environment file in achieving the national strategic goals of climate change 2050 through implementing a road map shedding light on promising chances.
The minister said the meeting aimed at creating a nucleus for supporting the banking sector in line with the national strategy for climate change which is one of the fruits of the COP27 climate change conference held in Sharm El Sheikh in November.
She indicated that this partnership also seeks to support new and renewable energy projects after implementing the first group of projects with the private sector.
Fouad’s statements came during a meeting on Tuesday, February 7, with the first undersecretary of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), Mai Abul Naga, and senior officials of the bank.
