International Cooperation Minister Rania Al Mashat declared that Egypt is the first country to launch the Country Climate and Development Report (CCDR) in the Middle East and North Africa Region (MENA), in cooperation with the World Bank.

The minister’s statements came during her participation in an event organized by the WB on Monday on the launch of CCDR, with participation from Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad, British Ambassador to Egypt Gareth Bayley, World Bank’s Country Director for Egypt, Yemen, and Djibouti Marina Wes, Director for Strategy, Risk, and Results, Operations Policy and Country Services of the World Bank Stefan G. The CCDR is a key tool to support the State’s policy to shift to green economy and conducts a comprehensive analysis of the economic situation in Egypt and focuses on the sectors of water, agriculture, energy, transportation, industry, and resilient coastal cities.

Mashat said the Country Climate and Development Report (CCDR) explores the challenges and opportunities for improving the alignment of Egypt’s development goals with its climate ambition.
