Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli asserted Monday the necessity of going ahead with implementing the project of establishing the soda ash complex.

It aims at producing sodium carbonate to meet the needs of the local market and reduce imports.

The project comes following directives from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to start producing soda ash substances.

Madbouli’s Remarks came last Monday as he was reviewing the progress made in the project with Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Tarek el Molla.

Molla gave a brief of the project, its location in New Alamein City, and its importance in producing soda ash to achieve sustainable development and improve the Egyptian lime material.

He also explained that the project is expected to meet the demands of the Egyptian market, reduce its imports, and create new direct and indirect jobs.
