According to the UN, The Official UN Commemoration of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women took place on Wednesday, 23 November 2022 from 10 am – 11.30 am (EST) at the ECOSOC Chamber, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
The event was shined a spotlight on the powerful role of women’s rights movements in preventing and eliminating violence against women and girls; mobilize more people to support efforts to end violence against women and girls and push back against the rollback of women’s rights, and kickstart the activities of the 16a Days of Activism.
At a time of growing pushback against the hard-earned gains of the feminist movement and heightened threats to the rights of women and girls everywhere, The UN invite everyone to orange the world through activism!
