NCW Participates in “Torathna” 2023 Handicrafts Exhibition

The National Council for Women is participating with a special pavilion in the “Torathna” exhibition, which is set to run from October 8 to 14, 2023, under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, and organized by the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority for the fifth year in a row at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in New Cairo.

Director General of Skills Development at the Council, Ms. Mai Mahmoud, confirmed that the Council is participating in the exhibition in a pavilion in the B5 area to display various products for women from different governorates.

The products include a group of leather products and accessories, textiles, cotton bedding, and bags with innovative drawings, in addition to carrying out a live presentation about each.

NCW emphasized that all products are the outputs of the training workshops organized by the council within the framework of the national project for the development of the Egyptian family.

Ms. Mahmoud further indicated that the council’s pavilion also includes a group of women’s products in the governorates of Beheira, Gharbia, Minya, and Luxor, which are the result of training workshops within the framework of a project to address the economic drivers of illegal immigration, including agricultural processing products such as jam and dried vegetables, in addition to crafts made of copper and beads, Looms, macrame products, clothes and ornaments that complement fashion and home decor, in addition to a live show on pressing seeds to extract natural oils for cosmetic purposes.

Moreover, she explained that participation in the exhibition comes from the Council’s keenness to economically empower talented women and girls and support them to market and develop their products and participate in various exhibitions in order to widen their marketing channels.
