The National Council for Women announced its participation for the first time in a special pavilion in the 54th session of the Cairo International Book Fair 2023, held this year under the slogan “In Egypt’s Name: We Read…We Think…We Create”, from Jan. 25 to Feb. 6 at Egypt International Exhibition and Convention Center.

The NCW’s pavilion, No. B1, located in hall 3 of the exhibition, includes a special section displaying publications issued by the Council over the past years, focusing on women’s issues in all fields. Additionally, it offers an introductory overview of the Council’s and Egypt’s efforts in this field to those interested in women’s issues.

Moreover, the council’s pavilion will showcase handicrafts produced by women during the council’s training for women within the national project for the development of the Egyptian family, implemented in the villages of the “Decent Life” initiative, among the women’s products in other training programs.

Part of the pavilion will be allocated to the Women’s Complaints Office in the Council, to introduce the services it provides to women, offer them psychological, social, and legal support, and share its hotline, 15115, on which the office receives inquiries and complaints of women.

The Council will also organize interactive workshops for the public to train some of the fair’s female visitors interested to learn crafts, like painting on cloth and making glove puppets.

Besides, the NCW will hold a symposium within the activities of the exhibition entitled “The Role of Women in Building Cultural and Moral Awareness”, during which Al-Azhar University professor Dr. Saad El-Din Helaly, who is also an active Council member will give a speech.
