NCW Congratulates Ambassador Fayza Abu Al-Naga for Receiving the Hungarian Order of Merit

The National Council for Women extended their sincerest congratulations to Ambassador Faiza Abul-Naga, Advisor to the President for National Security Affairs and former Minister of International Cooperation, for receiving the Hungarian Order of Merit of the First Class.

Dr. Maya Morsi, President of the Council, expressed her great pride in Ambassador Fayza Abul-Naga for obtaining this prestigious medal, stressing that it is a well-deserved tribute to such a great Egyptian personality for her efforts and a history full of prominent achievements over the decades, calling her an honorable model for Egypt and Egyptian women.

It is worth noting that Abul-Naga held several positions in the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the World Trade Organization, the Conference on Disarmament, and other international organizations. She was also the special political assistant to Dr. Boutros-Ghali and the Secretary-General of the United Nations between 1992 to 1996.

More importantly, the Ambassador had previously assumed the position of Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to become the first woman to hold this position in Egypt and the Arab world.

Furthermore, she assumed various official duties and was appointed as a member of many ministerial groups and committees concerned with formulating policies for economic planning, foreign debt management, investment, employment, and human resources development.
